Reporting to the LocalMotion Carmarthen Manager with a dotted line report to the Fiscal Host CEO at People Speak Up
About LocalMotion
LocalMotion is a UK-wide network of place-based partnerships to combat the root causes of social, environmental, and economic inequality with networks in Lincoln, Enfield, Torbay, Oldham, and Middlesbrough. Carmarthen is the only Wales-based location.
LocalMotion Carmarthen is working to explore these themes through a cultural methodology. We are a social justice movement based around democratising and empowering approaches to community development. We see culture as a critical tool in which to model and design change, seed collaboration, and speak truth to power.
Our program in Carmarthen is rooted around two systems of governance, the Local Peoples Assembly, made up of 13 local people with lived experiences, and our Core Group. We also have an extensive network of local partners, a public program, and local think tanks exploring and researching different areas of social economic infrastructure. Our activities are broad and varied, taking many different forms, from providing training, to gardening, to a community feast, or even publishing reports, making proposals, hosting events and symposiums, or even a street play workshop.
LocalMotion Carmarthen is hosted by People Speak Up.
You will be employed and contracted by People Speak Up.
