You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.
We’re recruiting for students to join our Regional External Affairs and Development Industrial Placement programme at our Sizewell C Information Office, Leiston (IP16). There will be the opportunity for some hybrid working in addition to time in the offices in Leiston. Please note there will be a requirement to attend other offices for occasional meetings throughout the programme.
Taking on a real job at a junior level, you'll have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues.
What we’re looking for
* Disciplines in Stakeholder Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, Environmental Science and Geography.
* A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference.
* We will need you to be open minded, adaptable and have a quick way of thinking to succeed in a progressive fast paced project environment.
* Having a strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas.
* Effective interpersonal skills are key, as well as being able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character.
* Effective communication skills will be required to manage your stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.
* A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously on occasions and support the broader needs of the team.
Some of the tasks you will take part in:
* Support the management of key, local sustainability focused projects such as Net Zero Leiston, Transport and Hydrogen focused initiatives.
* Support local engagement on the sustainability projects, identifying and working with current partners for delivery of objectives.
* Identify and support establishment of key external partnership opportunities to help deliver the objectives of the sustainability projects.
* Research, report on and present updates on the sustainability focused projects to internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide analysis on key topics that are of relevance to the wider Sizewell C programme.
* Create presentation and summary material for projects.
* Support the wider READ team with local engagement and stakeholder issues management.
* Support the wider F&ER team in workstreams relating to Environmental, Social, and Governance topics, the development of the RAB model, liaison with investors and liaison with government, such as preparing materials on multiple topics that support the case for SZC.
