This is a challenging, responsible and interesting role within a very busy working environment. In this role you will be liaising with a range of professionals, families and young people to ensure special educational provision is in place to support young people. However, you will not be directly working in education settings with young people with SEN.
You will have a sensitive approach to the requirements of children and young people with SEN and their families so will need to be confident in building relationships with families, colleagues and stakeholders. With good IT and written communication skills, you should be able to provide a summary of from a range of complex information and support decision making within statutory timescales. Ideally you will have experience of Special Educational Needs (SEN) statutory processes. We are also interested to hear from candidates with a background in SEN education/social care/health/careers advice, who can manage multiple stakeholders whilst following procedure, to deliver effective outcomes.
We believe in rewarding our staff for their commitment to delivering essential public services with an extensive range of benefits. We want to help you strive to be the best you can be, and to enjoy serving Hampshire with purpose and pride. Your work base will be at our office in Winchester. The current expectation is to be office based for one day per week, working from home for the remainder. However, there will also be a requirement to attend face to face meetings in education settings at times and to attend service days at points throughout the year.
