We are looking for a patient, calm and committed SEN Senior Teaching Assistant to join us at Wreake Valley Academy as part of the Bradgate Inclusion Centre on a permanent basis. The Bradgate Inclusion Unit is an enhanced resource base for students with communication and interaction and anxiety and sensory difficulties which are usually associated with ASD. You will be part of a supportive team who are energetic, supportive and professional and are committed to ensuring that the children are at the heart of everything they do.
As an SEN Senior Teaching Assistant, you will support the children and assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of whole class learning activities, which includes contributing to planning and preparation of differentiated resources and individual instruction. You will be a team player who can lend a hand and be flexible to support the needs of the Inclusion Unit.
This role is a rewarding one with a successful candidate having the opportunity to become part of the Bradgate Education Partnership family and will benefit from working with great students and alongside experienced, friendly and welcoming staff members. In addition, the successful candidate will have access to our CPD programme.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be NVQ Level 3 qualified or have equivalent experience of supporting teaching and learning in an educational setting
• Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN/SEMH/ASD
• Have good numeracy and literacy skills
• Have basic IT skills
• Be highly organised and conscientious
• Have good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible
• Have high expectations and work to ensure that all children can succeed in their learning
• Be a team player
• Have a great sense of humour
