Children's Health Promotion Advisor (Cheshire East)

The Children's Health Promotion Advisor works closely with the Health Visitor to support the delivery of identified packages of care, providing support and advice to clients. The role delivers a range of health promoting programmes and activities for inclusion in a variety of settings including mental wellbeing, physical activity, stop smoking support, oral health, food and nutrition, and lifestyle/weight management.
To develop and deliver health care and health promotion as a member of the Integrated Children's Division, using evidence-based practice and professional leadership and management. The role supports the development of best practice and facilitates shared learning to develop services and initiatives that meet local needs, in relation to the aims and objectives of Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Duties of the Job
The CHPA role works closely with the Health Visiting team.
* Works across Cheshire East supporting delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 0-19.
* Manages a delegated active caseload, working as a member of a skill mixed team, responsible for interacting constructively with team members and organizing, prioritizing, and planning their work. This includes arranging visits and supporting delivery of universal services and additional packages of care.
* Facilitates and delivers clinics and group sessions as required, including evenings based on service need.
* Undertakes Healthy Child reviews/contacts and promotes uptake of immunization as per Trust and professional guidelines.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* NNEB/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/Public Health
* Brief Intervention/Motivational Interviewing trained
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Health and Social Care Foundation Degree
Experience & Knowledge
* Substantial experience in a health-related post
* Experience of working with children and young people
* Experience of working in the community
* Experience of integrated working and liaising with other agencies
* Awareness of local health priorities
* Experience of delivering health improvement training and advice to individuals and groups
* Knowledge of safeguarding issues
* Awareness of public health audits, data collection, and report writing
* Experience of delivering/facilitating activities to individuals and groups
