The Catering Department at Prince Philip Hospital is currently looking to recruit two Catering Assistants. The available contracts are 1 x 22.5 hour post (Catering assistant/ restaurant) worked over 3 days per week and 1 x 20 hour post (Kitchen Pot wash) worked over 4 days a week.
Working hours are on a three-week rota basis - Monday to Sunday between 06:00 am - 20:00 pm, including Bank Holidays as required, for which additional payment will be made.
The successful candidates will join a large team in providing an effective and efficient cleaning and catering service. They will play an integral role in ensuring that food is prepared, delivered, and the department is cleaned to the highest standard.
Main Duties of the Job
Duties will vary covering both restaurant and pot wash responsibilities. The postholders will be supported and trained to provide a high level of customer service and to restock areas while maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. There will be a requirement to handle card and cash payments.
Duties will include:
* Deep cleaning within the kitchen area and cleaning of equipment used during the course of the day.
* Accepting deliveries into the kitchen, recording temperatures, and putting items away in allocated holding areas.
* Collection of food waste bins from ward areas.
The successful individuals will receive uniform and full training.
