This role is potentially hybrid, but we encourage all our Apprentices to be onsite as often as possible, especially during the first few months.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

The Role
Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. The Engineering Installation Group (EIG) offers Engineering expertise for installation and support of a wide variety of equipment across UKAEA in all Engineering disciplines.
The Mechanical Support and Maintenance Section (MSMS) delivers high-quality build and installation resources for various Diagnostic and Specialist Machine Services on the JET and MAST Machines.
This is a technical role supporting MSMS and EIG in the provision of engineering services and assisting in the delivery of tasked engineering projects. This includes generating documentation and supervising others for the assembly, maintenance, and installation of a wide range of specialist equipment.
This role supports physicists and engineers across the organization to sustain and improve existing installations and provide new builds or major improvements as required.
* Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of technical skills.
* Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
Minimum Requirements:
* 5 GCSEs A* - C (9-4) including Maths and English.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for the chosen area of work.
