The MASH service in North Somerset is recruiting a highly motivated and talented Social Worker with experience in Children’s Services to join their team in Weston Super Mare. As a temporary member of staff, you will be considered an integral part of this team. This position is for 37 hours a week, with 3 month+ contracts on a rate of £38.
The team operates a multi-agency approach, effectively and efficiently delivering the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and families.
You will be required to act quickly, in a coordinated and consistent way. Therefore, working well under pressure and to tight deadlines will be an expectation. You will have the ability to write succinct evidence-based reports and present social care information and issues that can impact the risk or needs assessment of the child/young person. This may involve disclosing proportionate and relevant information related to the parents/caregivers or siblings. Although this role can be highly demanding, it is office-based with minimal travel. This is a fantastic opportunity, especially for someone who would like to step away from a case-holding team and community visits.
The successful candidates will be working within the following teams:
1. Assessment team responding to all initial contacts made to the Safeguarding & Family Support Service.
2. Generic Safeguarding Team providing a range of services for Child Protection and Family Support Services, including children who are looked after.
The social work role in the MASH requires good IT and interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound risk assessments at the point of referral to children’s social care. It would be helpful, although not essential, to have an understanding and working knowledge of Care First 6. You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to your own car, and able to reside and work in the UK.
As an Eden Brown Synergy candidate, you can take advantage of our competitive service offering, including:
