Do you have a passion for leading a women's specific service in a custodial setting?
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated registered mental health professional to lead our Integrated Mental Health & Substance Use Team, based within HMP Drake Hall, a prison and young offender institute for women aged 18 years upwards.
You would be joining a caring and compassionate multi-disciplinary team committed to recovery-focused and trauma-informed approaches to care. The Service is responsible for assessment, planning, and the delivery of a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support mental health and substance use needs for some of the most socially excluded women in society.
An interest in perinatal mental health and women's health issues would be desirable.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the management and leadership of the team. With a small clinical caseload, you will offer assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions. You will provide team leadership in coordinating the day-to-day provision of integrated wellbeing, mental health, and substance use healthcare to service users in a custodial setting and maintain the overall standards which will include a single point of referral assessment and delivery of care within the framework of The Care Programme Approach and recovery agenda. This will involve both clinical responsibilities of managing a small caseload as well as day-to-day operational management.

* Support in the implementation of integrated care pathways including appropriate service user assessments and models of care within a stepped care mental health model.
* Co-ordinate care delivery across the mental healthcare pathway e.g. referrals management, allocations of named worker/care co-ordinator, ensuring seamless continuity of care across the stepped care model dependent on service user need.
* Demonstrate the application of appropriate procedures and standards.
* Assist in the general management of the clinical area, with responsibilities for managing attendance.
* Lead on caseload and management supervision to monitor named nurse/care co-ordinator standards of service user care and documentation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Relevant Degree or Post Graduate diploma/equivalent level of experience
Experience
* Considerable experience of working in the mental health field
* Experience of providing specialist interventions for those with mental health problems, counselling techniques, CBT, motivational interviewing
* Demonstrable experience at Band 6/7 or equivalent
