Incremental improvement is our aim and all team members are involved in how that evolves. Experience Essential 6 years experience working as a 3D Animator with a minimum of 2 shipped games. Proven experience of creating 3D animations via a Showreel and/or supporting portfolio. Experience with animating in Autodesk Maya. Experience with implementing animation within an industry standard game engine, preferably Unity Desirable Experience with Character Rigging. Experience of wider Art and Team pipelines. Demonstrable storytelling skills beyond gameplay, such as cutscenes or short films. Experience with 2D animation. Experience with 3D modelling/ texturing. Skills and Abilities The desire and ability to create game-ready, beautiful animations to deadline and internal quality standards. Excellent animation range: from realism to broad stylisation. Highly motivated and productive; a self-starter. Invention skills: logically and creatively solve gameplay issues through clarifying animation and with player firmly in mind. Ensure excellent file organisation within files and across project folder structure. Expert planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail. Good sense of industry animation standards. Top notch communication skills, speaking clearly and effectively with team members at all levels, both written and verbally. Can adapt well to new processes and pipelines and helps to further improve existing ones through field-testing and robust documentation. Duties and Tasks Building assets to game engine specifications and pipelines for Unity. Building content within the requirements of the target platform. Meet or exceed the project deliverables in a timely manner. Leading by example in process, output and professionalism. Mentoring and championing all members of the animation team. Consulting with clients to understand the work required for tasks. Presenting 3D animations to colleagues for internal feedback. Liaise with other departments to ensure successful delivery of projects. Shaping feedback, iteration and comms culture within the Animation department. Working closely with pre-production departments to advise on best practice for Animation project needs. Where necessary, leading stand ups and team meetings for communication of project goals. Helping organise and execute the burn down of the team’s art tasks, using Jira and working with the Animation Lead, Art Manager and Studio Producer to meet project deadlines.
