About the role
The role is to test and document a range of LV Switchgear panels and components; host factory acceptance tests with clients and diagnose any problems that might arise with the panels. Assisting with engineering, commissioning, and building of the panels.

Main Responsibilities
1. To produce associated documentation with the testing of the panel with detail.
2. To use test equipment such as a dielectric tester, multi-meter, IR tester, etc.
3. To maintain safe working practices and always adhere to quality control & safety procedures.
4. To travel to sites and diagnose then fix issues with panels.
5. To have a good customer relationship and confidence to demonstrate testing under the presence of the end customer.
6. Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions, both written and verbal (from the supervisor and other team members), to assemble components and build and wire panels within specified timescales.
7. Carry out testing and inspection on finished Switchgear panels both on the shop floor and at customer premises in line with approved standards and customer requirements.
8. Adhere to and always maintain safe working practices.
9. Be able to send a panel to site with 100% confidence that it fits within specification and functions as stated.
10. Perform and host Factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests in the presence of end customers.
11. Adhere to and actively improve (through feedback to the supervisor) quality control processes and test procedures.
12. Travel to customer sites to support installation, as and when required.
13. To provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
The Person
1. Have a NVQ level 3 in Electrical engineering or several years of experience within the LV Switchgear industry is essential.
2. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in LV Switchgear testing.
3. A qualified Electrician with a current ECS card.
4. Driving Licence.
5. Positive "can do" attitude with good attention to detail.
6. Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to flexibly and proactively manage changing priorities and work to tight timescales.
7. Ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team.
8. Strong problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent communication skills; must be able to communicate at all levels.
10. Able to work extended and/or unsocial hours to meet the full requirements of the role.
