Description Please note, this role can be based out of our Holborn, Coventry or Manchester Store Support Centre & Home. As a Risk Manager you will deliver the business risk management framework, supporting management to identify and monitor risks effectively to assess them against the organisation’s risk appetite. You will develop the tools and templates, frameworks, requirements and reporting to support risk discussions across the business, as well as maintaining risk information relating to Corporate and Divisional risks, ensuring it is current and tracked, and challenge management of risk mitigation strategies. You'll support on risk workshops as required and the business’s annual disclosures relating to risk. More about the role Maintain risk dashboards, maps, KRIs and other supporting information to ensure they are current and reflect our ongoing risk conversations, assessments and other information. Driving a continual risk focus in the business through supporting the Head of Risk Management and other Heads of Audit and Risk to facilitate risk workshops and meetings to help management identify, assess and manage key business risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with risk owners across the business. This will involve supporting owners across the business understand and monitor changing risk profiles and the impact of KRIs and risk actions. Support the regulatory reporting process to develop the Principal Risks & Uncertainties disclosure for the Annual Report. Monitor new and emerging trends in Risk Management through external networks, assess their applicability for Sainsbury’s and embed in ways of working, as appropriate. Develop our response to corporate governance requirements (particularly as prescribed by the FRC) and assess and advise on their impact on the business. Own and develop tools and templates, frameworks, requirements and reporting to support risk discussions across the business. Align with other risk assurance and controls providers across the business to collaborate and remove duplication whilst improving standards. Respond to requests from business stakeholders, providing ad hoc independent risk insight and advice and coordinating support as appropriate. More about you Experience of facilitating risk management discussions and workshops at all levels, including leadership teams. Demonstrable experience or understanding of risk management and control environments at interview. Experience of working in complex operational environments, retail experience is desirable. Proven track record in developing strong stakeholder relationships at different seniority levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which includes an ability to explain the impact of risks to stakeholders across the business. Strong analytical and report writing skills. Curiosity to learn new skills / knowledge and a commitment to personal development. Good understanding of Risk Management frameworks, trends and external developments. Strong commercial acumen. Strong time management and project management skills to ensure work is delivered on time, to budget and to the expected quality.
