Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced trader and executive leader to join our global derivatives trading business to lead our growth in the EMEA region. Based in London, the ideal candidate for this role will have an extensive academic and practical background in multiple trading disciplines including options, exotic options & structured products, futures, and low-latency automated trading systems. A strong background in corporate finance and FCA regulatory compliance is also required, along with a track record of interacting with clients, brokers, and external trading counterparties.
Responsibilities
Oversight & Accountability - Serve in the Senior Management Function (SMF) role for all of our trading activities in the EMEA region, based in London and spanning across several StoneX entities. Responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring risk portfolio's in commodities & FX
* Direct or indirect (dotted line) management of London-based traders
* Coordination with sales SMF's to ensure the business grows in accordance with the high standards expected at StoneX.
* Quality Control - liaise with middle & back office teams to ensure effective process and governance, maintaining a high level of efficiency and accountability across functions.
Trading Technology
* Closely align with and leverage the capabilities of our OTC Quant Trading Team to implement and adapt cutting edge pricing and execution systems to the region across various asset classes
* Play a critical role in defining the unique requirements of the region and helping to prioritize the opportunities we should focus resources on
* Propose and lead projects that will profitably grow our transactional volume and revenue while delivering superior pricing and service to our clients.
* Serve as the primary liaison with the backoffice system project management and development teams to help prioritize various ongoing tasks and critical business requirements
Financial Management - liaise with corporate Treasury and Accounting functions to:
* Ensure smooth & efficient capital allocation across external counterparties, other StoneX entities, exchange margin requirements, etc
* Optimize the interest carry on client deposits
* Develop suitable accounting and financial reporting to sync EMEA activity with the Global OTC business for management KPI's, budget, etc
* Continually monitor and refine precise transactional revenue metrics
Sales & Marketing - the Head of Trading will serve as the primary subject matter expert for sales & marketing efforts, supporting the growth in our client business by:
* Providing content for our marketing team to promote the business through various channels
* Continually educating our sales and brokerage teams on OTC products and our value proposition, as well as the risk and suitability standards we adhere to
* Attend client meeting or events as needed to support our sales teams
Other/ Management
* Business Intelligence: Work with data team to define, procure, and improve business KPI's.
* Corporate Development - identifying and evaluating new external business opportunities including individuals, teams, clients/partners, and merger & acquisition prospects
Qualifications
To land this role you will need:
* Minimum 8 years progressive experience in trading derivatives portfolios and managing groups of traders; with significant market-making experience in options and low-latency automated trading systems
* Strong quantitative background, advanced degree in Math or Engineering preferred
* Exceptional communication skills, must be comfortable interacting regularly with sales, trading, developers, risk, and other internal stakeholders
* Exceptional record of leadership and work ethic
