Department Overview The Finance Transformation programme is implementing the Oracle Fusion ERP suite for Financials, Procurement and Recruitment, building on the Oracle HCM and Payroll tools already in place. These tools will facilitate significant transformation across Finance and the wider Bank business areas. The programme will be managing that transformation change as well as the configuration of the Oracle toolset. This role will sit within the Technology Financial Systems Solutions domain supporting a large number of the Banks critical financial systems. Detailed Description of the Role: The Bank utilises an enterprise reconciliation tool called AutoRek which is primarily developed using .Net and Microsoft SQL Server. More details on the product can be found at Autorek.com. The candidate will be expected to: Use their .NET development expertise to produce high quality software components which conform to Bank guidelines and standards. They will be expected to take part in the testing/implementation of these components and provide post implementation support. Play an active part in the Financial Messaging Services Team, providing input into technical discussions, sharing knowledge, and assisting other team members. Work with security colleagues to develop and maintain secure systems that align with security standards. Display the core Bank behaviours in their daily work, namely act inclusively, drive growth and deliver outcomes. In the short term the successful candidate will be seconded to a major on-going programme to implement a new general ledger system for the Bank. During this period line management of the candidate will shared between Financial Messaging Service and this programme The key areas of responsibility will be: Delivery of secure software components; providing input into the estimation and planning process; refining requirements together with business users and/or technical analysts; designing and developing software using agreed methodologies, processes and standards; improving development by the use of appropriate tools; taking part in all stages of the test cycle; managing and rectifying software issues; managing their own code within test environments and deploying software Providing post implementation support; delivering agreed change requests and rectifying errors. Become part of the team's daily support rota covering the live activity for which the team is responsible. There is a requirement for a certain amount of evening and weekend work. Playing an active part in the Financial Messaging Services Team's activities; supporting other team members, sharing their technical knowledge with the rest of the team, reviewing other team members work; assisting in the continuous improvement of development processes, methods and standards. Job Requirements Essential The ideal candidate will: Have a good understanding of reconciliation processes ideally using AutoRek or a similar tool. Have a good understanding and familiarity with the full software development lifecycle and different software development models; will be expected to develop software using Bank methods, processes and standards. Have a good understanding of technical architectures. Have in depth experience of tools that support the development process. This should include Git, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server and SQL Server Management Studio. Have in depth experience of languages, methods and tools relating to the team's area of responsibility including C#, .NET 6 or higher, web application and API development, JavaScript, React and SQL Server. Have a level of software testing experience sufficient to take part in test activities including unit testing, system testing and user acceptance test support. Be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, organisation, self-motivation, and a desire for self-improvement. Understand good team practice and the ability to work with others sharing their knowledge/experience when appropriate. Have good interpersonal communication skills with an ability to interpret and present information to a variety of recipients using suitable modes of communication. Be able to produce concise, informative documentation. Have a consistent track record of forming and maintaining positive relationships with business colleagues. Have experience of Agile methods for software delivery. Desirable: Knowledge of Azure cloud technologies, typescript, MVC, IIS, SQL Server Integration services and SQL Server Reporting Services would be advantageous. Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate. We offer a salary as follows: Leeds circa £46,720 - £53,910 London circa £51,870 - £59,850 In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below: A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
