Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to work with the sales team located in Blackburn, UK. This role will provide excellent experience in the design and development of electrical switchgear and associated products. We are looking for a graduate level design engineer with an eye for detail who can work independently and as part of a team. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as the successful candidate will work with multiple disciplines during products lifecycle. What a typical day looks like:
1. You will create Electrical designs of switchboards & associated products ready for Sales / production purposes
2. Liaising with the sales team to understand client specifications and requirements
3. Ensuring drawings issued are controlled, accurate and easy to follow
4. Aiding Sales to resolve problems with new & existing product designs
5. Liaising with 2D & 3D Designers to ensure library is accurate
6. Utilising AutoCAD to add tags to existing drawings
7. You will report to the Central Bids Manager
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
8. Relevant experience in a switchgear production environment (electrical) will be considered in lieu of a third level qualification
9. Have a solid understanding of electricity fundamentals and electrical circuit design
10. Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
11. Have a methodical approach to problem solving
12. Understanding of electrical engineering drawings such as single line diagrams and schematics is advantageous
