Role: Accounts Payable Specialist Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA Office Based Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent Salary: £23,860 - £27,000 Dependent on experience & Bonus Scheme Company: EG Group About the Role Our Transactional Finance Team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity available for an Accounts Payable Clerk In this role you will be part of the Accounts Payable Team and responsible for ensuring accurate and timely posting and payment of invoices. Duties & Responsibilities Their allocated AP accounts, including all related policy adherence and compliance, liaising by phone and email with vendors Processing all non-purchase order and purchase order invoices for payment Posting invoices / credit notes per business requests and ensuring they are coded correctly in the accounting system Performing other assigned Accounts Payable tasks of a routine nature under the direction of the Accounts Payable Team Leader Vendor master database maintenance Reconciliation, Payments and Controls (RPC) Pre-disbursement controls Direct Debit monitoring Balance sheet account reconciliation Preparation of monthly supplier statement reconciliations Monitoring of month end activities for accounts payable Pro-active management of supplier accounts and monitoring of ageing Communicating and liaising with suppliers to resolve any invoicing, payment or other queries Monitor AP email inbox / ticketing system Release of payment files, manual ad hoc payments Other ad-hoc tasks as required Support to clients, vendors Communicating and liaising with suppliers to resolve any invoicing, payment or other queries Cooperation with other departments Liaising with the broader finance team and Team Leader to provide regular updated on daily/weekly and Monthly activities This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or amended from time to time. Candidate Requirements Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably in a Shared Services environment Excellent client and customer service skills Working knowledge of MS Office products Must have strong academic record and experience in Finance You will need to be a good communicator with the ability to present and explain financial information to all levels of management with a high standard of written skills.
