The Client
Our well established client who cover residential warranties and also building control services are now looking to expand their team and are seeking a Registered Building Inspector Class 2
The Role
The Building Control Inspector will be responsible for arranging and undertaking inspections of projects during construction to help ensure compliance the Building Regulations and associated guidance for residential developments typically up to 11 metres high.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to –
* Undertaking inspection of works along with plan checking
* Producing detailed records of all inspections undertaken
* Ensuring that all project records are on the database
* Ensuring at completion of works that all relevant inspections have been carried out and any defects/non-conformities have been addressed before final certification is issued
* Carrying out duties in accordance with QMS procedures
* Delivery of a consistent service and building effective client relationships
* Provide mentoring and support towards the training and development of our trainee and assistant building control surveyors
* Undertaking, where required, inspections on behalf of the wider Group and in line with service level agreements
Experience and Qualifications Required
* An excellent understanding of building regulations
* Excellent problem- solving skills + A tactful approach
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Time management skills and organisation ability
* Excellent team working skills, with the ability to work effectively alone
* Demonstrable experience in the ability to interpret plan appraisal of residential and mixed- use developments
* Proficient in MS Office
* Building control inspection experience
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and environmental issues
Desirable Criteria
* Experience of ISO 9001 practices and procedures
* RBI Class 2 Registered
* CIOB, CWCI, CABE, HNC, HND or a degree or an equivalent qualification in building studies or a related subject
* At least 3 years practical experience in the construction industry
