Are you an experienced and highly motivated Band 5 or an existing Band 6 looking for a new challenge? Can you lead a group of enthusiastic Registered Nurses? Are you passionate about teaching and developing others to achieve their full potential? Then we want to hear from you!
This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a dynamic team within Surgery. In return, we can offer you a wide range of professional development opportunities. These include work-based learning, shadowing, and mentoring. Our motivated Matrons and Senior Sisters can provide you with a comprehensive induction program, giving you the opportunity to shadow some of our specialist nurses.
We are looking for dynamic individuals to help take the department forward. We pride ourselves on the fact that the patients are at the heart of everything we do. You will possess excellent communication skills and be clinically competent in the care of surgical patients. A strong interest in developing new staff and a proactive approach to delivering high standards of evidence-based care are essential components of this post.
Astor Ward is a 30-bedded emergency surgical ward that aims to deliver the best possible care to our General Surgery, Urology, Colorectal, Gynaecology, and Upper GI patients.
Your growth and personal happiness matter to us. After all, we can't expect the best from you if we don't invest in your development and nurture your wellbeing. From the moment you join us, we're committed to fostering your professional and personal development in a supportive, empowering environment. Whether you're just starting your career or looking to advance further, we provide you with the tools and opportunities you need to succeed. To support your wellbeing, we offer an extensive range of resources, including an on-site staff nursery at Kingston Hospital, wellbeing practitioners, regular wellbeing classes, a dedicated staff physiotherapist, comprehensive occupational health services, a 24/7 employee assistance programme, and a range of other support and activities.
We also take every opportunity to thank and recognise the work our teams do, through weekly "shoutouts" and patient feedback, as well as monthly staff awards.
