Description An exciting opportunity to be part of the Information Services team based in the Chancellors Building at the BioQuarter in the south of Edinburgh. Working with a positive, friendly and supportive team providing a wide range of IT services for the College of Medicine. The team covers support for Information Services at the Edinburgh BioQuarter and Central campus including the BioQuarter and central George Square. The post is fixed term for 12 months to help cover a secondment and is full time 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The post holder is initially required to be on-site full time; however, we are open to consider flexible and hybrid working patterns after completed required training and knowledge transfer. You will be reporting to the IS Campus Lead for the BioQuarter and Central Area. What the job involves: Providing end user support, resolving technical problems and providing guidance on computer hardware, software and AV equipment Installing and supporting a range of operating systems but mainly Windows and OS X On-site support with the assistance of remote support tools Providing AV support for lecture theatres, seminar rooms and various meeting rooms Advising users on appropriate solutions ensuring compliance with policies and procedures Maintaining and updating internal knowledgebase View the full job description and snapshot of a typical day.
