You will join a new and growing Cost Engineering team within Procurement, with responsibility of managing a team of cost engineer’s across a number of engineering functions. Whilst we scale our business you will take leadership of our People, Process and Technology while also ensuring we deliver the launch of our exciting products to cost and time.
This is a unique hands on role where Cost Engineering play a critical role within our sourcing, post sourcing and supplier negotiations to achieve VFM and support the business cost management process
· Management of a team of 4-6 cost engineers (Grad to Seniors)
· Lead & upskill the team to support our aggressive growth plans as a function and as a business
· Ensure all cost engineering activities and your team are prioritizing workload in line with the programme requirements
· Responsible for Piece, D&D and Tooling should costs directional & detailed
· Providing cost estimates to support business case decisions
· Analyze supplied supplier QAF data to ensure we are receiving value for money and identify opportunities and/or errors in suppliers cost calculations again to be used as part of the buyer/supplier negotiations.
· Lead in negotiations where required to quickly close gaps and clarity in order to source suppliers on time and to target
· Support and lead in cost Value for money / cost validation post sourcing
· Work alongside our existing Cost Engineering Manager to develop the long term strategy and cost engineering tool selection
Requirements
· An experienced Cost Engineering Manager with an Automotive background in cost engineering
· Ability to build credibility and confidence with a wide variety of stakeholders.
· Able to navigate competing priorities, flexible and capable of adapting to a constantly changing business environment.
· Team player and a willingness to roll up sleeves when required
· Toolmaker / Tooling experience in order to negotiate with suppliers
· Experience with multiple commodities
· Enthusiastic to create & develop a world class & collaborative cost engineering team
