Kennedys is looking for a legal file auditor to join our Risk & Compliance department who provide expert information, advice, and guidance to the Firm on professional responsibility, risk, and compliance issues. The role sits within the Quality and Audit Risk team.
Team
Kennedys Risk & Compliance team oversees a wide range of partnership and risk and compliance issues for the firm and acts as an in-house legal department assisting with regulatory and professional conduct enquiries.
Kennedys Quality and Audit Risk team are responsible for the delivery of the annual lawyer file and relevant business services audit programmes, as well as assisting with client team auditing requirements.
Key responsibilities
1. Assist in the delivery of the annual lawyer file audit programme.
2. The timely delivery of quality written audit reports as well as assisting in the monitoring and completion of corrective actions.
3. Contribute competently to existing and future internal audit processes, throughout the UK and global offices.
4. Discuss the internal audit requirements and any audit findings with fee earners, team leader, and Partners throughout the business.
5. Assist in the delivery of an effective audit process relevant to the ISO 9001 Quality Management accreditation for all UK and overseas offices.
6. Assist in the ongoing development of existing internal audit processes within the relevant audit system.
7. Where required, participate in due diligence processes related to internal or external audit activity.
Required experience
1. Minimum 2 years' experience of legal file management.
2. Current or previous supervisory, peer review experience or completion of file audit would be ideal.
3. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
4. Proven organisational skills with a proactive attitude.
5. Proven ability to deal with confidential matters with discretion.
6. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
