About the Role To provide a full-time, fixed-term (12 months) legal support to the small team of Legal Intervention Officers within the Education Welfare & EOTAS Service. The Education Welfare Specialist will work alongside the Legal Intervention Officers in the Education Welfare and EOTAS Service. They will be responsible for supporting colleagues in the preparation of court bundles for prosecution, take witness statements, gather evidence and appear in court as a witness in respect of the Education Act 1996. About You The ideal candidate will have: Extensive working knowledge of law relating to school attendance Proven experience of working in a pressurised environment with the ability to prioritise work Knowledge of strategies to improve school attendance at a national and local level Evidence of effective written, oral and good interpersonal skills, with the ability to be an effective member of the senior leadership team - A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
