SEND Early Years Teaching Assistant - Islington Location: Islington, London Hours: 08:30am - 03:30pm Start Date: Immediate Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Long-term placement) SANZA Teaching Agency is working closely with a thriving two-form entry primary school in the London Borough of Islington to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEND Early Years Teaching Assistant. The Role: Supporting children with SEND within the EYFS setting, focusing on Reception and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Providing tailored support to help children engage with learning, develop social skills, and build independence. Assisting with learning activities, play-based interventions, and structured routines to support children's progress Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to ensure each child receives the support they need. Personal care duties may be required, including nappy changing and supporting children with toileting and self-care. The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in an early years or reception setting. A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to working with young children with additional needs. Ability to differentiate activities and provide one-to-one or small group interventions to meet individual learning needs. Experience or willingness to assist with personal care and nappy changing when required. Strong understanding of child development, EYFS curriculum, and early years best practices.
