731AP Project Engineer Hinkley Point C, Somerset Long term contract, Full-time £36.60 per hour PAYE allowances Job Title: Project Engineer Description & Background: At Hinkley Point C is one of the countries premier construction projects, they are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. The organisation has a large scope of work including mechanical manufacturing/production of pipework and associated elements. They are currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer that will be managing and coordinating a portion of the fabrication and welding process. Responsibilities: • Oversee a portion of the fabrication and welding scope, functioning as a junior project manager without primary commercial or budgetary responsibilities. • Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with project standards. • Establish and coordinate work teams to execute tasks in accordance with the project plan. • Manage temporary works as required by the project. • Verify project readiness and monitor adherence to the established timeline. • Communicate potential issues or concerns proactively to the project management team. Experience Required: • A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, with preference given to candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing or construction environments. • Demonstrated experience of working in Project Management functions. • Proficient working knowledge of MS Project or PRINCE2 methodology. • Exposure to fabrication and welding processes is considered advantageous. • Capability and willingness to work on site at HPC in Taunton on a 10 – 4 rotational schedule. Location: • Hinkley Point C Site Salary Hours: • Full-time, 10-12 hours per day, Monday-Friday • £36.60 per hour PAYE • 10 days on, 4 days off rota • £38 per night • 0.34p per mile for first 10k miles or equivalent in rail or flights. • 25 days public and 8 bank holidays • Up to 8% pension matched This is a long-term contract with a large organisation that will give you an opportunity to grow your career.
