Your role is to scope, develop and maintain applications and systems supplied to both internal and external customers. You will be required to work to an agile methodology and support systems across a variety of environments and tools, maintaining high-quality, secure code while collaborating with a cross-functional team. Principles responsibilities: In this role you will be instrumental in scoping, developing, and implementing new systems as well as new features on existing web and desktop applications. Your responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define project requirements, producing clean and secure code, and ensuring the integration of new features meets the expected standards. You will also focus on maintaining the health of the codebase by addressing technical debt and adhering to best practices, contributing to the longevity and security of our software. You will be expected to champion a cloud first mindset, driving the adoption and migration of cloud solutions across the organisation. You will manage development and deployments to both cloud and on-prem infrastructure and utilise and developing DevOps practices to enable efficiencies in the development and deployment process. Your role requires agility and flexibility in using a variety of tools and systems to meet business needs and project goals. You will be expected to contribute to our modernisation initiatives, investigating and adopting new technologies, migrating, and enhancing our legacy systems and ensuring seamless integrations. This role will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team and the wider business community, driving projects from conception to completion, providing operational support, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining high standards of code quality, security, and system performance to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions. Key Skills/Qualification/Experience Technical Proficiency Extensive experience in Web development technologies, including; HTML, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, PHP, SQL, NodeJS, ReactJS, APIs, Git and frameworks. Experience working with and configuring Cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. Strong understanding of modern code development practices and the software development lifecycle. Experience working with Test Driven Development and automated testing solutions. Proficient in using DevOps tools and practices for CI/CD. Familiarity with low-code platforms and automation tools. Problem-Solving Prowess Natural candour for problem-solving, even when faced with sparse information. Ability to investigate complex issues systematically. Keen eye for identifying, documenting, debugging, and resolving defects in software features. Strong analytical skills to evaluate and improve existing systems and processes. Agile Environment Savvy Experience working within an agile environment. Experience utilizing project & ticket management platforms such as Jira. Willingness to learn new skills, and support the teams on-call rota. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver results to deadlines.
