The successful candidate will conduct research and analysis relating to existing and potential insurance markets of PIBs Schemes and Affinities Division. The Role Working with the Research and Insight Team, you will identify and investigate potential new markets for S&A products, building detailed industry profiles including market sizes, demographics, trends, internal culture, ESG matters (Environmental, Social, Governance) and other relevant information. Working closely with the Brand Leader and Product and Proposition teams you will also maintain watching briefs on existing key sectors and competitors, regularly reporting key developments and providing analysis to inform business decisions and ongoing strategy. In addition, you may be assigned to provide research and insight capabilities to specific projects and initiatives. Methods will include desk-based research as well as primary research including FOI requests, surveys, interviews, focus groups, attending sector events and other networking. The research will be undertaken from an investigative perspective, aiming to test assumptions and build up rigorous frameworks for ongoing analysis. Supported by the wider Research and Insight team you will also collaborate closely with other teams and departments across PIB, using your research findings to generate marketing content where relevant. You will ensure feedback to the business is action focussed, drawing out key insights and making strategic recommendations for action based on sound commercial judgement and peer feedback. Deliverables will include regular reports, presentations, articles and external facing-content, with the key outcome of helping the Division define its ongoing strategy. The Candidate Educated to degree level in a subject with a strong social research component, or equivalent experience coupled with expertise in qualitative social research methods. 2 years experienceof working in a research, analysis or insight role within a commercial or third sector environment with proven experience of strong research and analysis skills. Track record of producing actionable research and analysis that has led to strategic success. Experience of using a variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques for both primary and secondary (desk) research and the ability to analyse these accordingly. Awareness of ESG issues as applied to the SME sector alongside knowledge and interest in public affairs in a commercial context. Strong commercial awareness and judgement alongside outstanding communication skills across a variety of media. Highly organised and able to prioritise to meet tight deadlines and comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team. Experience of working in a research, analysis or insight role within the insurance industry would be of benefit but not essential. Why Join Us?
