About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for older adults across Edinburgh and the Lothians. In this role, you will provide person-centred care and support, empowering individuals to maintain their independence while ensuring dignity and respect. Working alongside a dedicated team, you will support their emotional, social, and physical well-being, assist with daily activities, promote life skills, and help build meaningful connections within the community.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Support individuals in setting and achieving their personal goals.
* Contribute to and review support plans, ensuring personalised care and risk assessments are updated.
* Maintain clear, professional records of support provided.
* Deliver eligible services as defined by Housing Benefit Service Charge, if applicable.
* Participate in the key working process to provide structured support.
* Assess and manage risks for the people supported, colleagues, and oneself.
* Assist with access to education, employment, housing, and recreational activities.
* Support individuals in managing their home environment effectively.
* Assist or prompt medication management following prescribed instructions.
* Promote health and wellbeing through positive lifestyle choices.
* Use personalised communication tailored to individual needs.
* Encourage personal development through volunteering, training, and creative activities.
* Ensure proper communication of all relevant support-related information.

·Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service and care at home service, or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
* If you’re starting a career in social care or are already working in social care but don’t have the qualifications just yet, our client will support you to gain the appropriate qualifications needed to register without condition with the SSSC.
* The client encourages staff and their own personal development. Training will be provided to help you excel in your role. They offer funded SCQF levelled qualifications, such as SVQs and HNCs as part of your development plan.
Additional Notes
* Shift work and weekend work may be a requirement of this role. Flexible working arrangements are also available. These can be discussed at your interview.
* PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration are requirements of this post.

Interview Process:
Successful shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a teams call/face to face with 21HSC staff then an in person interview at the organisations head office in central Edinburgh on Wednesday 5th March. The interview will be facilitated and arranged by 21HSC.
