we’re looking for a technical manager to join us for a 6 month fixed term contract
the role |
we are looking for an experienced technical manager to join our food technical team on a 6 month FTC
you will be responsible for the co-ordination + completion of activities in relation to food safety + quality + integrity + sustainability + allergen + nutrition control
key accountabilities
* supply chain food safety, quality + integrity
* allergen + nutritional compliance
* supplier performance management, inc supplier audits and visits, supplier performance reviews
* technical scorecard completion, review and trending
* facilitating the new menu launch process + managing sample requests for lab testing
* assessing product specifications and raw material information to determine correct + accurate information
* represent and promote technical integrity
* ensuring that the company meets its legal and ethical responsibilities
* ensuring all food safety issues + complaints are resolved or escalated appropriately
* to liaise with the other teams and give accurate advice as required on matters of food safety + allergen compliance + nutrition in relation to food + drink ingredients
* provide accurate compliance reporting periodically to drive business improvement
* maintain menu launch technical process
* preparation and review of allergen and nutritional guides
* maintaining up to date ingredient specification, supplier information and allergen and nutritional information for both ingredients and finished dishes
* support driving sustainability, welfare, and ethical trading throughout the supply chain
* maintain supplier supply chain traceability for meat, fish and produce
what we look for |
* a degree qualification in food science and nutrition or related discipline
* minimum five years in technical management role in the industry
* competence in supplier management + raw material management + risk assessments
* haccp level 3 minimum
* sound knowledge + understanding of taccp + vaccp
* knowledge + understanding of food safety gfsi accreditation standards scheme
* sound knowledge + understanding of allergen management + nutritional regulations
* knowledge + understanding of industry’s sustainability and welfare standards
* experience of working with horizon scanning + finn + rasff
* restaurant operational awareness + knowledge would be beneficial
* good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* strong it skills, specifically excel + databases
* attention to detail
* ability to travel
* strong organisational skills + planning + prioritising + self-motivating + team player
