Position: Purchaser
Location: Bournemouth
Working Hours: 7am-7pm, 5-5-4 shift pattern
Gama Aviation is currently recruiting for an experienced Purchaser to join our expanding Supply Chain team at our modern base facility in Bournemouth. Reporting to the Purchasing - Shift Lead, the Purchasers will be responsible for the procurement of all aircraft parts, services, commercial stock, COSHH and tooling products to support the MRO RoW Gama Aviation across all UK facilities.
Due to the expansion and growth, the Purchasers will be required to operate from Bournemouth MRO RoW offices, working in conjunction with the engineering shifts, rotating through a 5/5/4 shift.
The Purchasers need to be proactive in problem solving, resolution and flexible in their approach to work to ensure parts and services are ordered on-time and as required to meet the customer and engineering expectations and the delivery of aircraft.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the cost-effective procurement of aircraft spares and services to meet the needs of the MRO
* Ensure all 3rd party cores are observed and returned to retailers as mandated by time scale
* Support aircraft maintenance checks undertaken at remote bases
* Ensure accuracy of all orders inclusive of cost, purchasing method and linked requisitions
* Ensure expediting and progression is conducted, recorded and uploaded to the MRO software
* Forward planning and coordination with engineering, planning and commercial is conducted
* Ensure timely updates to the MRO RoW of all parts purchased and their schedule for delivery
* Ensure warehouse staff are collectively informed of inbound priorities
* Ensure the imports / exports coordinator is fully aware of inbound priorities
* Daily reporting to the Procurement shift lead and engineering as required
* Support for project reporting and governance against performance KPIs
* Support to the wider business as reasonably requested
* Aiding the department where it is most needed
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
* Experience working within purchasing in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Understanding of manufacturing practices
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers
* Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills
* Able to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
* Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, and proactive environment
