My client is looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to oversee and manage multiple civil engineering sites within the Stockport area.
This role requires a skilled professional who can effectively coordinate projects, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage 3 to 6 active sites of varying values.
2. Coordinate with client representatives and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
3. Work with the Contract Manager, Business Manager, and commercial team to plan and program complex works, including forward planning for labour, plant, and materials.
4. Organize and call off materials, equipment, and staffing to maintain project progress.
5. Oversee daily site operations, including plant and equipment management.
6. Prepare and implement Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and site-specific safety protocols.
7. Maintain accurate site records, including labour, plant, materials, daily diaries, and photographic documentation.
8. Ensure compliance with the company's Site Managers Manual and all relevant safety and quality standards.
9. Conduct site inductions, maintain timekeeping, and manage personnel on-site.
10. Represent the company professionally at all times.
11. Operate the Permit to Dig system and report accidents or near misses to Head Office.
12. Liaise with the public and local businesses as required.
13. Support the QS and Contracts Manager with measurements, claims, and financial reporting.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
1. Proven experience in a supervisory role within civil engineering.
2. Strong people management and organizational skills.
3. Full UK driving license.
4. Highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
5. Relevant qualifications, such as CSCS, NRSWA, SMSTS, or equivalent.
6. Experience in financial management of costs and maintaining accurate project records.
7. Ability to work to tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
Desirable:
1. Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel.
2. Experience with Local Authority highway projects.
3. Confined Spaces qualification and IOSH certification.
4. Experience managing several smaller sites concurrently.
5. Some experience in quantity surveying.
