The Role
This is a part-time role supporting secondary school students with complex needs. Working under the direction of the class teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring the student can access the curriculum and thrive both academically and personally.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver targeted interventions to support the student's social and emotional development.
Assist the student in accessing teaching content and fully engaging in lessons.
Manage challenging behaviour with patience and calmness.
Maintain the student's safety and welfare at all times.
Provide regular feedback to the class teacher and/or SENDCo.
Essential Criteria
Previous experience working in an educational setting.
Ability to build trusting relationships, remain calm under pressure, and use initiative.
Patience, sensitivity, and a nurturing approach.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and needs.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience supporting students with complex needs.
Relevant education/care qualification.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks and TRA checks. Applicants who do not have a non-voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work and the DBS has been registered on the update service.
