The Role
We are looking for a Projects Assembly Team Leader (Manufacturing/ Production Supervisor) to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating assembly team activities to achieve production targets, ensure quality standards, and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing shop floor. This particular Team Leader will be responsible for the Projects team, which looks after our custom-made goods. This means that you will be working on varied, project-based builds that requires problem solving, adaptability and hands on technical skills.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven experience in mechanical, pneumatic, or electromechanical assembly who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is passionate about lean manufacturing, team leadership, and process improvement.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a production team on the shop floor, ensuring output meets production schedules and quality standards
* Oversee assembly and testing of mechanical, pneumatic, and electromechanical products in line with drawings, procedures, and work instructions
* Coordinate team tasks to meet KPIs including OTD (On-Time Delivery), RFT (Right First Time), and labour efficiency
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing, and 5S across work areas
* Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001, health and safety (HSE), and environmental standards
* Manage communication with internal departments to support production planning and problem resolution
* Support training, skill flexibility, and the development of team members through hands-on coaching and effective communication
* Ensure all equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures are adhered to and reported accurately
* Maintain accurate production records and contribute to visual management through SQDLP boards and KPI reporting
* Promote a positive working culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and proactive issue resolution
Requirements
* NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading or equivalent; NVQ Level 3 or relevant engineering qualification preferred
* Proven experience in a manufacturing supervisory role within assembly, fabrication, mechanical fitting, pneumatics, or electromechanical systems
* Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools and techniques
* Familiarity with ISO 9001, health & safety procedures, and workshop safety standards
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive approach to coaching and team development
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, follow procedures, and manage priorities under pressure
* Confident using data for KPI tracking, performance analysis, and production planning
