Exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager for industry-leading transport and warehousing solutions delivered nationwide at Colnbrook, Manchester, and Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our company, ensuring that we deliver high-quality services to our customers and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the day-to-day operations.
2. Act as a key operations leader.
3. Develop and implement plans that will lead to improvement in company profit.
4. Build relationships with clients through constant contact and advocacy, offering advice, solutions, and proactive issue management.
5. Manage staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
6. Conduct investigations to determine the cause of problems like accidents and set up safety measures to avoid recurrence.
7. Lead and develop the operations team, supporting and encouraging self-learning.
8. Maintain an open dialogue with other units' managers to organize activities that enhance company performance.
9. Ensure staff compliance with the company's handbook, procedures, and values.
10. Oversee the order process to maintain standard KPIs.
11. Responsible for all aspects of the centre's daily running, including overall H&S responsibilities.
12. Organize meetings to share strategy and provide product/organizational updates and branch performance.
13. Provide customer information and manage routine operations.
14. Data analysis and oversight of schedules and operations.
15. Cross-functional collaboration with other departments and customers.
16. Ensure maximum productivity and establish productivity goals as needed.
17. Continuously review and improve operational processes for accuracy and compliance.
18. Develop personnel to ensure appropriate backups/successors in key positions.
19. Deliver upon contract service level agreements and expectations.
20. Monitor, improve, and report on key performance indicators, including financial performance and team productivity.
21. Develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture, effectively managing performance and talent development.
22. Respond to complex inquiries and complaints about transit and operational issues.
23. Review and update policies and procedures for compliance with industry standards and regulations.
24. Ensure all vehicles are in good working order and properly maintained.
25. Schedule staff to ensure vehicles are appropriately staffed.
26. Any other tasks suggested by management.
