Key Responsibilities
1. Ability to follow a set of instructions & produce materials to our high level of quality control.
2. Ensuring the safe and accurate loading of customer orders.
3. Serving customers in the yard to ensure customer orders are fulfilled completely.
4. Accurately processing all forms of counter sales transactions via EPOS; cash, credit & debit card, BACS payments & all account customer transactions using the correct documentation.
5. Liaising with other members of staff & our Technical Director to ensure that all technical queries are dealt with fully and that detailed specification support is provided at the appropriate level.
6. Assembling customer orders in the yard and production areas so that they are ready for uplift or collection by couriers / transport companies.
7. Ensuring all stock is safely stored and protected against the weather & damage.
8. Checking stock levels & advising when stocks are low so they can be re-ordered in time.
9. Serving customers at the sales counter in our shop, providing a very professional and friendly service for all face-to-face inquiries, telephone calls, e-mails, and letters.
10. Dealing with damages effectively and promptly.
11. Ensuring personal compliance with all Health and Safety obligations.
Key Skills
1. Excellent communication skills and a friendly and helpful approach.
2. Great customer service skills and the ability to manage tasks and time effectively in a busy trade counter environment.
3. Holding a full clean driving licence (Desirable).
4. Very competent user of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel – used daily.
5. An interest in buildings, architecture and/or conservation would be useful.
