We currently have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our Quality and Food Safety team on a permanent basis. This is an ideal job for someone looking to come into the Technical team at entry level, learn the business and grow their knowledge of food safety, quality, legality and authenticity.
The position is part time, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm in the evenings, Monday to Sunday, working in a 2-2-3 shift pattern.
The Quality Controller is responsible for auditing, monitoring and providing technical support to the relevant stakeholders, promoting quality, food safety culture and standards within the business. As QC, you will be responsible for monitoring that all staff are producing products to the relevant specifications and customer requirements. You will support by ensuring company procedures for food safety, legality, quality and authenticity are followed at all times.
Main Duties
1. Auditing of food safety and quality checks and paperwork being completed by production including, but not limited to, label checks, metal detector checks, weight checks, machine start up checks, temperature and traceability records.
2. Supporting production operatives and team leaders to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
3. Identification of non-conforming product and processes and ensuring that Quality Technician and/or Shift Quality Lead are informed as soon as possible.
4. Sampling and swabbing for micro and organoleptic testing.
5. Providing support and advice to the factory team ahead of a customer visit or external audit.
6. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety & Hygiene Standards, following up that necessary corrective actions are taken in a timely manner and verified for continual compliance.
