The role: The Financial Accountant is an interim position to support the Schools Finance Department. This is a varied role that includes day to day operations within the Harrow School Finance department, assisting the Financial Controller with VAT and tax compliance, cash management and forecasting, together with ensuring compliance with other regulatory matters. The role will report to the Director of Finance and will be supported by the Schools taxation and other professional advisers. There could be flexibility about the days and times the work is undertaken; in turn flexibility will be required to support other workstreams of the finance team at busy times. The skills: You will have a recognised accounting or taxation qualification (e.g. AAT) and direct experience of completing quarterly VAT returns as well as supporting tax compliance. Your experience of supporting treasury management activities and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and 'Know Your Customer' regulations will be well-utilised in this role. As a supportive team member with an ability to work in different areas of the finance specialism, you will be flexible to assist the team with funds/asset management, cashflow and monthly accounts processes when they have busy workloads. Using your pragmatic business experience and initiative you will enjoy involving yourself in interesting financial projects for the School to support business improvement.
