About the Role Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We're proud to offer Flexible First approach to work, and these roles are no exception. We will however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices across Scotland (Inverness/Aberdeen/Perth). The projects are in the Argyll area near Inveraray, where site presence is required. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available. We have a fantastic opportunity for an established Project Manager to join the SSEN Transmission Capital Delivery team and work on a complex new build overhead line project. The key responsibilities involved include: - Leading the SSEN-T project team and managing external contractors, to ensure project excellence is achieved and we deliver on our promises. - Managing the execution of a capital project, ensuring the safe delivery to programme, cost and the necessary quality. - Ensuring the project adheres to our Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Governance processes. - Demonstrating alignment with the SSE Safety culture and core values. What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: - A strong project management, engineering or construction background and understanding of applicable health and safety regulations including CDM regulations. - Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven track record in the successful delivery of large projects. - Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes. - Due to the location of our projects, there is a need to have a driving licence and, a willingness to travel to site and be on site for at least 3 days a week during construction. - Experience managing large electricity transmission projects is desirable. Experience in managing major projects from other industries, in particular long distance linear projects such as pipelines, rail or cabling, coupled with the desire and ability to learn quickly will be considered. Experience of managing a project featuring complex outage/shutdown plans would be highly applicable.
