Business Development Manager
* Monday – Friday, 39 hours per week

About the role:
We’re seeking a Business Development Manager to support our proactive sales efforts across the UK and Europe. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be an integral part of the Broadway External Sales Team, responsible for driving growth by nurturing existing business as well as identifying new opportunities, forging strong relationships and creating strategies to enhance Broadway’s market presence in Europe and the UK.
Key responsibilities include:
* Gain an in-depth understanding of Broadway’s business, markets served and the competitive landscape
* Support the development and implementation of Broadway’s sales strategy to achieve agreed annual sales targets and minimum margin
* Prepare monthly sales forecasts for orders and actively report on sales activity
* Proactively build and maintain relationships with existing customers as well seeking new business
* Leverage technical knowledge and commercial awareness to deliver commercially appealing solutions both for Broadway and our customers
* Obtain accurate and detailed information from customers to assist in the development of new colour and additive masterbatch formulations
* Proactively initiate outbound phone calls, emails and meetings to create or follow up on sales opportunities
* Requirements to travel throughout Europe and the UK to meet customers regularly in person, to include overnight stays away
* Ensure a prompt response to all inbound customer enquiries including phone calls, emails, website enquiries and posted samples/letters
* Maintain and manage the company’s CRM platform, ensuring information on allocated accounts is accurate and up to date
* In conjunction with the Internal Sales Department, help prepare accurate quotations and send these to customers in a timely manner
* Assist with day-to-day sales activities as required

Experience and qualities required:
* Previous external technical sales experience selling B2C and B2B in the UK or Europe
* Previous experience in the plastics industry is advantageous, but not essential
* A second European language (preferably German) is desired, but not essential
* Demonstrable commercial awareness
* Ability to follow direction and also work efficiently under your own initiative, when working remotely or without close supervision
* Personable, with experience of building positive business relationships
* Computer literate with experience of using internal systems such as ERP & CRM
* Clean UK driving licence
* Honest, trustworthy and an effective communicator
