Highways Maintenance Supervisor / Agent

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Highways Supervisor to oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of highways and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of highway operations, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Site Supervision
• Oversee daily on-site activities, including construction, maintenance, and repair work on highways.
• Ensure efficient resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Health & Safety Compliance:
• Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and site inspections.
Quality Control:
• Monitor and inspect work to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards.
• Identify and resolve issues promptly to maintain project quality.
Team Management:
• Lead and manage a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring high performance and motivation.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members as needed.
• Play a key role in the development of the business.
Project Coordination:
• Collaborate with the Project Manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Maintain accurate records of work progress, delays, and any issues.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact on-site for clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate project updates and address concerns professionally.
Documentation & Reporting:
• Prepare daily site reports, safety checklists, and progress updates for management.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in highway construction, maintenance, and supervision.
• In-depth knowledge of highway construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Valid CSCS card and other relevant safety certifications.
• Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications:
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
• First Aid at Work certification.
• Experience in working with local authorities and managing resource.
