T2M Resourcing have been appointed to recruit an experienced Senior Tax Manager for a leading
employer in the Southwest. This successful company has UK and International operations with a
high growth trajectory. The Senior Tax Manager will report to the Finance Director and provide
strategic business support and Tax subject matter expertise, leading a tax team that will ensure
rigourous reporting, compliance, and tax risk management. This role could suit Tax professionals
currently working in commerce or those seeking a move from an accountancy / tax advisory firm.
Your remit as Senior Tax Manager will include:
* Ensure that the business meets its tax compliance requirements and manages tax risk in a pro-active and commercial manner.
* Review of corporation and VAT tax returns and analysis.
* Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on ‘all things tax’ – ensuring that the business is fully aware of tax implications and risk management.
* Provide technical tax support at group and local level, keeping up to date on tax legislation and developments.
* Take a proactive role in business planning and commercial initiatives, including delivery of projects aligned to the improvement of systems, processes and wider business performance initiatives.
* Maintain a tax risk register – ensuring adherence at local and group level.
* Manage and develop a high performing tax team.
To be successful in this role as Senior Tax Manager you will need to demonstrate the following experience and attributes:
* A qualified accountant or tax professional with considerable experience in Corporation Tax and VAT.
* Currently working as a Tax Manager (or above) within a large commercial or tax advisory function of a professional services firm.
* Impressive knowledge of accounting standards and application within an IAS / IFRS / UK GAAP compliance environment.
* Experience of Transfer Pricing and Customs / Duty reporting would be advantageous.
* Experience of managing relationships with HMRC and auditors.
* Great leadership and team management / development skills.
* A pro-active, pragmatic solutions approach to problem solving.
* An elevated level of accountability and a team focus.
