The Northern State University Art Department is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) assignment in the areas of Graphic Design and Art History.
Primary assigned duties include:
1. Teach applied studio classes in Graphic Design, Typography, Digital Illustration, and other relevant courses.
2. Teach Art History/World Art Survey sections, Graphic Design History, and Theory/Criticism.
3. Participate in department activities including recruitment, student mentoring, department planning, and student advocacy.
4. Serve on University Committee(s) as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. Terminal degree (MFA) in graphic design, digital media, or other applicable studio area.
2. Experience teaching a variety of art history courses, art appreciation, and/or related courses.
3. Ability to address historical survey content and current issues in contemporary art/criticism.
4. Experience with various online instructional platforms.
5. Higher education teaching experience (beyond the T.A.).
6. Current professional activities, examples may include:
* Publications (editing, citations, etc.)
* Presentations at professional meetings
* Current work in circulation or in progress
* Grants received or applied for
* Examples of art and/or design works
* Samples of student work
* Other professional service or development activities
