Job Overview
Our Client is seeking an Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the DNO, IDNO, or ICP industry, particularly in renewable or embedded generation. This role supports the delivery of construction projects, offering technical guidance to the project team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management: Oversee electrical elements of construction projects, from design handover to completion, including cable testing and commissioning. Assist the Project Manager in maintaining project schedules and ensuring efficient workflows.
2. Technical Support: Provide guidance to the Construction Supervisor and Project Manager, chair technical meetings, and work closely with design and operations teams, clients, and technical advisors.
3. Compliance: Ensure all electrical works adhere to relevant DNO G81, BS standards, and client requirements. Maintain awareness of legal, contractual, and safety regulations.
4. Resource Allocation: Determine project-specific labor and resource needs, supporting the Project Manager and Commercial team with technical scopes for tenders.
5. Project-Specific Oversight:
1. Recruit and manage site supervisors if needed.
2. Review project drawings and specifications.
3. Maintain the Programme of Works (POW) and communicate updates effectively.
4. Ensure compliance with street work regulations and NJUG guidelines.
6. Quality & Commissioning: Develop and implement quality assurance (QA) programs, supervise subcontractors, compile test certificates, and ensure compliance with commissioning plans.
7. Risk and Documentation Management: Regularly update the Risk Register, assist in report compilation, and oversee “as-built” documentation for health and safety files.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Essential: HND or degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience), 5+ years in relevant construction projects, experience with DNO, IDNO, or ICP, and prior AP or SAP authorizations.
2. Desirable: Knowledge of DNO G81, Sect 50, and experience with renewable/embedded generation projects.
Technical Skills
1. Ability to interpret electrical drawings, knowledge of industry standards, compliance with HSEQ requirements, and proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
