Role: HIU Service & Repair Engineer
Location: London / Southeast - Field Based
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Van, Tools & Benefits
My renewable energy client is seeking an experienced HIU Service & Repair Engineer reporting to my client's Lead HIU engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operation and maintenance services across our fleet of heat networks. We are looking for someone who has experience with servicing and repairing HIUs. The ideal candidate will have at least 1+ years of relevant experience working with HIUs of various brands and be knowledgeable and reliable. You will need to have experience servicing HIUs from various manufacturers and be able to fault find and replace parts comfortably. Experience in district heating networks is preferred but not essential.
Your role will also involve, but not be limited to:
1. Working under the direct supervision of my client's Lead HIU engineer
2. Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities in line with company maintenance schedules
3. Servicing HIUs and repair works
4. Completion of fault finding and repairs to HIUs whilst working on the on-call rota
5. Attend reactive callouts to sites to reinstate heat and resolve HIU failures
6. Take part in an on-call rota and attend callouts (typically 1 week in 4)
7. Review root causes for plant failure (resolve operational issues which arise)
8. Management of site-based project work and development of the scope of works for plant remediation
9. Safe isolation of equipment before commencing works
10. Good communication with the team always
11. Ensure your own system records are kept up to date to ensure accurate and secure records. This will involve the completion of clear and concise online work orders
12. Assist with 1 and 12 monthly mechanical PPM checks within plant rooms
13. Carry out in-house training to develop engineers
14. Assist in preparing commissioning procedures
You should demonstrate the following:
1. 1+ years of experience working as a HIU service engineer
2. Part P
3. Part G
4. Knowledge of heat network energy centres and plant rooms
5. Able to read technical drawings e.g., P&IDs & mechanical schematics
6. Electrical competency (basic)
7. Competent with safe isolation (mechanical and electrical)
8. Full UK driving license (valid for at least 12 months)
9. Full UK working rights
