Our stunning care home Guiseley Manor Care Centre is a purpose-built 72 bed care facility and is situated in the town of Guiseley in the heart of west Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort and care to residents who have a variety of care needs. We offer residential, nursing and dementia care. The home reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort and care. We invest in the latest technology, and offer a purposeful programme of daily activity and gentle exercise to enhance the experience, care and wellbeing of our residents. All team members are hand selected for their warmth and passion, they have a full induction and ongoing training from our in house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy. New Care has had no agency staff use for over 4 years as we employ a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care to residents from staff that know them and that residents know and trust. Across New Care all of our staff are paid the national living wage or above.
We are seeking to appoint a kind, motivated and organised Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant to join our team. To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Home is maintained to the highest level and within the New Care specification. We have a 30 hour contract available with an hourly rate of £11.44! Shift times are 0800-1400, with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Complete all daily and weekly cleaning schedules, and sign necessary paperwork.
2. Follow all guidance from Head Housekeeper.
3. To contribute to the achievement of the Home’s standards for Housekeeping.
4. To undertake general cleaning tasks and follow and carry out any other cleaning duties as delegated by the Head Housekeeper.
5. Carry our laundry duties when required.
6. Ensure the working environment is free from hazards and be aware of the risks when using the equipment.
7. Take responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
Skills and experience required:
8. Previous non-domestic cleaning and experience of working in a care setting would be beneficial.
9. Ability to operate cleaning equipment in the Home.
10. Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions and write basic comments.
11. Communicate effectively with other team members.
12. Display reliability and trustworthiness.
