Job overview
The Ward Clerk is an integral part of the ward team here on Ward A6. We are looking for someone who is proficient, organised, has good time keeping, and possesses excellent people and communication skills. You will be required to provide a comprehensive service to patients and perform clerical duties to a high standard.
Communicating regularly with patients' relatives and loved ones to provide updates, facilitating the attendance of patients onto the ward, updating the Hive System, and answering and responding to phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
To operate within clearly defined limits of policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines within the department and, when necessary, improve good working practice.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate who has excellent telephone and communication skills and is eager to join our Administration team at Wythenshawe. The position is a busy customer/administration service-based role where no two days are the same. You will need to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team are essential. You will work alongside the Consultants, Doctors, and Nurses to ensure our patients receive the best care possible. We are looking for candidates who will bring a positive approach to the working environment.
Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills, including Word and Excel. Experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment is essential, as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling and data input. You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitating the delivery of a patient-focused service.
