JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: Manor Walks shopping centre, NE23 6UT
HOURS: 40 hours per week
SHIFT PATTERN: one 4 on 4 off, 5 out of 7
PAY RATE: £11.44 per hour
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The Security Officer will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site. The role will be the public face of the security team and should always act with professionalism. A can-do attitude is essential in this highly influential role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first-class customer-focused service.
2. Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site Assignment Instructions, being always proactive.
3. Continuously look for opportunities to assist visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise.
4. Safeguard the site to ensure a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.
5. Ensure all incidents are managed in accordance with site policies and procedures.
6. Liaise with the site control room, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and supported.
7. Report any unsecure areas of the site to the Control Room immediately and take action to resolve.
8. Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives.
9. Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies, ensuring the Centre team is kept fully informed.
10. Understand human behavior, monitor and surveil suspect individuals, logging and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies.
11. Maintain vigilance and manage unauthorized access by banned individuals.
12. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
13. Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events.
14. Complete all training requirements as requested by the line manager.
15. Be available to cover at least 1 additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave.
