HR Employment is currently recruiting for an Engineering Maintenance Technician to join a well-established food manufacturing business. This role is key to ensuring maximum reliability and performance of all plant and equipment, with a focus on preventative maintenance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering & Maintenance: Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime of all machinery and equipment.
2. Maintenance Strategy: Work alongside the Engineering Manager to implement a risk-based maintenance strategy, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational objectives.
3. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in line with company procedures and legislative requirements, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
4. Equipment Performance & Reliability: Identify and action areas for engineering improvement, optimising machinery availability and performance.
5. Training & Development: Contribute to team training, ensuring all engineers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
6. Downtime Management: Ensure that downtime does not exceed 2% per week, with all routine and scheduled maintenance completed efficiently.
7. Quality & Compliance: Support Quality Management System (QMS) requirements to maintain industry accreditation.
8. Call-Out Cover: Participate in a rota system for emergency call-outs, providing essential out-of-hours support as required.
What We're Looking For:
1. Experience in engineering maintenance within a manufacturing or food production environment.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance.
3. Ability to work independently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
4. Understanding of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and PPM strategies.
5. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and fixing faults.
6. Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and unsociable hours.
