Central is currently recruiting for a Progression Coach, to work in the Islington area. The service is provides accommodation for young people aged 18 to 24 who are currently rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping with the aim to move them into appropriate longer-term accommodation.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday covering early (8AM - 4PM), mid (11AM - 7PM) and late (2PM - 10PM) shifts. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2 months. The pay rate is £14.17 per hour, with £1.71 holiday pay, totalling £15.88 per hour.
In this position, you will be expected to;
* Hold a caseload of key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART outcome based Support Plans
* Complete ongoing needs and risk assessments
* Support clients to sustain their tenancy and successfully move on into longer-term accommodation within 56 days.
* Work in partnership with multiple agencies to support clients
* Support all clients to participate in education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations
* Prepare the accommodation for new clients to move into and support them to settle in
* Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within client's accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience
* Ensure the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting
* Undertake housing management duties including coordinating repairs, updating risk assessments and banking

* A high level understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to maintain boundaries
* Experience of managing challenging situations, including responding calmly to crisis and dealing promptly, effectively and safely to complex situations
* Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
