Position: Land Acquisition Manager
Location: Washington D.C or Houston TX (hybrid)
The Role
Secure land for solar projects across Texas and wider US. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate land acquisitions to support the company's growing portfolio of solar energy projects. Bring a strong background in renewable energy land acquisition, real estate, or development, and possess in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and assess potential sites for solar development, analyzing land use, zoning, environmental constraints, and grid access.
* Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local communities, and stakeholders to facilitate land acquisition for solar projects.
* Negotiate land purchase agreements, leases, and easements.
* Ensure good terms and full compliance with company objectives and local regulations.
* Conduct due diligence on prospective sites, including title review, environmental assessments, and coordination with legal and technical teams.
* Work with permitting specialists to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Report on land acquisition progress, challenges, and potential new sites to senior management.
* Collaborate internally with project development, engineering, and legal teams to ensure a smooth transition from land acquisition to project execution.
Your Background and Skills
* 5 years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, or project development, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
* Expertise in land use regulations, zoning laws, and environmental considerations.
* Negotiation skills and evidenced track record of securing land agreements.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with landowners and stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously.
* Drivers’ license and ability to travel.
Salary and Benefits
* $130,000 + 15% bonus
