The Digital Policing Innovation Team at West Yorkshire Police has an exciting opportunity for an individual that is looking to enhance and diversify their skills and move into a Solution Delivery Lead role within an Agile Digital Delivery Team. The Team is responsible for the innovative implementation, customisation, and delivery of many products and solutions, supporting all areas of policing in West Yorkshire. Powered by platforms such as .Net, MS Power BI, MS Power Platform, .Net development, Robotic Process Automation, M365 / Azure solutions, among others, the team is a diverse group that delivers to an internal user base of over 10,000. We provide collaborative solutions with Policing partners by bringing their unique designs and initiatives to solution building, helping Policing colleagues focus on what they do best, protecting and serving communities. You will work with the Digital Delivery Manager and lead, manage, and coordinate the effective and efficient design, delivery, and implementation of a wide range of IT related projects while directly utilising a professional technical delivery team. Influence the future technological composition and direction of the organisation by implementing innovative new technologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness in policing. Ensure projects are managed professionally and effectively using appropriate project management techniques to ensure completion to agreed timescales, quality, and budget. The Focus Manage the delivery of new technological solutions utilising project management techniques (i.e. Scrum, DSDM, Agile etc.), coordinating internal resources, customers, and external suppliers. Undertake various stages of the project lifecycle, including feasibility, priority scoring, development, and implementation - while documenting throughout in line with standard project governance. Collect, review, and refine requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems to ensure the system design fits the needs of the users and conforms to Digital Policing infrastructure standards by working with customers to determine system and business needs. Lead on the discovery and analysis of new opportunities from feasibility through to architecting new automation and digital solutions. Direct and influence force Business Project Leads, Information Asset Owners/Assistants, and Departmental Senior Leadership Teams to scope, inform, and manage the technological transition process in line with force priorities and embed technology in the future shape of their functional area. Actively develop, monitor, and maintain robust and coherent project plans, Kanban boards, Sprints/timeboxes, budget management, risk registers, and milestone plans to ensure projects are suitably managed. Monitor progress through daily stand-ups, scheduled Project Backlog reviews, and raise project exception reports when required. Manage and coordinate the identification and tracking of business benefits, including the development of benefit profiles and highlighting interdependencies with the wider Digital Policing programme and West Yorkshire Combined Authority. What we’re looking for: Related degree or equivalent experience in Innovative delivery of Technologies. Previous supervisory management experience, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct staff. Demonstrated experience of supplier/vendor management. Ability to operate in a consultancy role. Knowledge and experience of Project Management, i.e., Agile, DSDM and Scrum methodologies. Proven experience of successfully influencing senior management and leadership. Ability to interpret business needs, technical requirements, and system specifications into tender documentation and oversee implementation. Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct project teams comprising internal stakeholders. Experience of using Microsoft Project or similar Project Management software.
